Global Transformation

The global economy is currently confronted with far-reaching changes, including in particular the ecological transformation and adaptation to climate change, which is promoting regional disparities and conflicts. This leads to numerous frictions and social problems and requires new forms of international cooperation. The Research Center "Global Transformation" deals with the design and effects of European and international climate policy, with a special focus on negative emission technologies. It also examines how global cooperation can be promoted, which circumstances undermine social cohesion and seeks solutions for managing collective risks. Furthermore it deals with the technology-driven global health economy, in which global cooperation is of central importance.
