Sahar Saeedi Moghaddam

Sahar Saeedi Moghaddam joined Global Cooperation and Social Cohesion in October 2022. She holds a BSc in Statistics from Iran’s University of Science and Culture, a MSc in Biostatistics from the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and is working toward a PhD in Quantitative Economics at the University of Kiel. Prior to joining the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Sahar served as an associate researcher and senior biostatistician at Iran’s Non-Communicable Diseases Research Center affiliated with the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. She has co-authored more than 110 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, including some of the most influential scholarly journals across all fields of science, such as The Lancet, Nature, and the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Sahar continues to collaborate with the Global Health and Population Project on Access to Care for Cardiometabolic Diseases (HPACC), the Non-Communicable Disease Risk Factor Collaboration (NCD-RisC) and the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD). Her main research interests are population health metrics, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the application of economic methods to global health research. She contributes to the Leibniz Research Alliance “INFECTIONS in an Urbanizing World”.
