Kiel Institute at Munich Security Conference
Our participation at the Munich Security Conference (MSC) reflects our strong expertise in defence economics and security policy. Our experts and Fellows regularly contribute to sessions and press briefings, where we provide in-depth analysis and policy recommendations.
We focus in particular on key questions in defence economics, including the classic “guns vs. butter” debate on balancing military spending and social investment, issues of smart defence procurement, and strategies to ensure effective and sustainable support for Ukraine. Through these engagements, we help shape informed discussions on the economic dimensions of security and defence policy at the MSC.
