Prof. Dr. Alina Sorgner
Dr. Alina Sorgner received her doctoral degree in economics from the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Germany. Her research work in the field of entrepreneurship, regional studies, and digitalization was published in peer-reviewed journals and discussed in leading newspapers including Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine and La Nación. Together with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, she carried out an empirical study for Women20 (an initiative group within the G20) in 2017 to estimate the effects of digitalization on gender equality. She is currently researching the role of entrepreneurship in addressing the challenges of globalization, digitization and demographic change as part of the EU-funded ESSPIN project "Economic, Social and Spatial Inequalities in Europe in the Era of Global Mega-trends."
