The surplus of the social security system in Germany will continue to decline in 2015 and in 2016 despite of the favourable economic development, according to a forecast by the Kiel economist Alfred Boss. The overall rate of contributions to social security will remain constant. However, the expenditures will increase strongly, mainly because of additional expenditures for pensioners.
