After years of rather subdued economic development, Schleswig-Holstein is seeing an upswing on the current edge. The economy in the country benefits from the export-led economic upswing throughout Germany. This is gradually reflected in higher growth rates and a start of job creation. Against this background, the authors examine the question of how well the Schleswig-Holstein economy is prepared for the challenges of globalization.
