Pascal Abb is a senior researcher at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), focusing on how a rising China is interacting with global conflict environments. He is currently conducting a DFG research project on how Chinese actors are adapting to conflict risks. He is also the coordinator of PRIF's research group on regime competition, which studies the intersection of great power politics and domestic regime dynamics, and the coordinator of the Leibniz research network on China. From 2002 to 2008, he studied political science and sinology at the University of Zurich, and received a doctoral degree from the University of Hamburg in 2013 for a dissertation on China’s foreign policy think tanks.
