Judy Kaaria is both a Quantitative Economics PhD student at Kiel University as well a researcher in the International Trade and Investment Research Group at the Kiel Institute's Research Center for International Trade. She obtained her MSc in Economics from Nairobi University in 2019 and her BSc (Hons) in Economics from Egerton University in 2016.

Her current research uses Value Added Tax (VAT) firm-to-firm level transactional level data to explore the Kenyan domestic and global networks. She is also a researcher with the African Economic Research Consortium. She has previously work for the Kenya Institute for Public Policy and Research analysis.
