Helene is a doctoral researcher in the International Development research center at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Her research interests lie in development economics, with a focus on long-run economic growth, conflict, and the persistent role of history and geography for development. Previously, she studied Economics in Mannheim and Economics and Political Science in Göttingen, and gained practical experience in economic consulting and development cooperation. She is part of the first ASP doctoral cohort that started the program in 2024.
