Christian Rischer
Christian Rischer has been a research associate in the Research Group Global Commons and Climate Policy since 2023. At the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, he works on EU climate policy instruments, dynamic marine protected areas and negative emission technologies. He examines the development of EU climate policy, the role of blue carbon as a negative emission technology and the impact of dynamic marine protected areas. He combines (resource) economics, governance and political science approaches. His other research interests include international climate change law and policy.
He studied Political Science at the Goethe-University Frankfurt (B.A.) and International Politics and International Law at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel (M.A.). During his master studies he worked as a graduate assistant at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
