German Real Estate Index (GREIX)

Research for a More Transparent Real Estate Market

The German Real Estate Index (GREIX), which is publicly funded, aims to increase transparency regarding the development of real estate indicators in Germany and make the data easily accessible to all.

GREIX regularly publishes updates on transaction price developments (GREIX Sales Price Index) based on purchase price collections from regional expert appraisal committees, as well as on rent developments (GREIX Rental Price Index) based on the "Value Marktdatenbank." Price developments are calculated using state-of-the-art scientific standards and statistical methods (e.g., hedonic regression). GREIX therefore represents the highest level of scientific data quality.

In addition to price developments, GREIX regularly publishes special analyses on topics such as affordability and price determinants, such as location and energy efficiency.
