ASP Alumni: A Strong Community
Our ASP Alumni-Association provides an outstanding network of more than 650 people across the world working in a wide range of professional positions in international and national institutions, global corporations, think tanks and universities. As a community, our ASP alumni are deeply supportive about one other and deeply connected to the ASP and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Notwithstanding the change in the format of the program in 2024, the essence of the ASP and its international focus, along with the camaraderie formed in Haus Weltclub, remains as shown on the occasion of the largest ASP reunion ever to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the ASP Program.
The aim of the Alumni-Association is to establish active, close contact both among current and former participants of the Advanced Studies Program as well as among participants and researchers at the Kiel Institute. Additionally, it seeks to deepen exchange between Alumni from different years.

The Society for the advancement of the Kiel Institute is the main channel that helps to finance important activities surrounding the ASP: ASP travel support for conferences, ASP Scholarships, Alumni reunions. It is independent and relies only on donations from Kiel Institute´s generous donors and friends.

The Society for the Advancement of the Kiel Institute has introduced for you a special rate for ASP alumni. Instead of the usual € 500, - membership fee, alumni only pay € 200, - per year.

The Advanced Studies Program is now a full-fledged, 5-year, high quality doctoral program that aims for the very top. The current program builds on our 40-year track record of training post graduate students in international economics, its unique ASP structure, its closely tight alumni network and the support of the whole Kiel Institute for the World Economy to produce high quality research that matters.
