The need for information on the carbon footprint of products is steadily increasing in light of tighter climate targets. The introduction of an effective CO2 price, the evaluation of the sustainability of companies, the individual decision between products, the concrete design of a supply chain law: climate-friendly investment and consumption decisions require the generation and provision of information on the CO2 footprint of products and business models. However, there is still a long way to go before this information is reliably and comparably available.

The Forum Climate Economics 8 "Transparent Climate Footprints – Information for Climate-Friendly Action" discusses the necessity, availability and impact of information for an effective climate policy. Based on this, requirements for legal regulations, such as in a supply chain law, and recommendations for their implementation can also be derived.

The Forum Climate Economics 8 will take place on February 23, 2021 | 3:00 - 6:00 pm | at ZEW Mannheim without an on-site audience. It will be broadcasted live on the internet and offers the audience the opportunity for an exchange with the discussants.

The Forum Climate Economics will be preceded by small roundtable discussions on February 9 and 11, 2021. This roundtable series will discuss specific aspects of this forum in a small group with invited guests and provide input for the discussion.
