Abbas Musa
Abbas Musa is an economist and doctoral researcher within the Trade Policy Research Group in the Trade Centre at the Kiel Institute. In his research, he applies new quantitative trade models and modern econometric tools of analysis to answer empirical and policy-relevant questions in international trade.
Abbas Musa obtained his BSc (Hons) in Economics from Northwest University Kano, Nigeria and a Joint Master's Degree in Economics of Globalization and European Integration from the University of Bari, Ghent University, and the University of Cantabria, where he was an Erasmus Mundus scholar. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. in International Economics at Bielefeld University.
Prior to his current work, Abbas Musa was a Research Fellow at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Furthermore, he also worked at the Economic Research and Statistics Division at the World Trade Organization, the Economic and Political Interactions cluster at the United Nations University—CRIS, the Research Department at Meristem Securities, and the Nigerian Ports Authority.
