This online briefing will present a new report on European rearmament, accompanied by an update of the Kiel Military Procurement Tracker now covering data up to early 2026 (the new version will be released on Tuesday after the online briefing).

The report focuses on military modernisation, examining to what extent the newest technologies — such as drones, manned-unmanned teaming, and next-generation air defence — are reflected in the procurement data. The analysis compares these results and trends against the publicly stated military strategies of the countries in the sample, including a critical assessment of the new German strategy alongside those of the UK and Poland. The report adds to the ongoing series of analyses on European rearmament (e.g., Kiel Report 1 (2024), Kiel Report 3 (2025)).

Guntram Wolff will present the report during the briefing. His co-authors Johannes Binder and Thomas Morgan will also comment on selected parts of the analysis, and all three will be available for questions.

Those interested in joining the briefing are kindly asked to send an email to Elisabeth Radke.
