3rd CEPR Applied Micro-Economic History Workshop

We are pleased to announce the 3rd CEPR Applied Micro-Economic History Workshop jointly organized by Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Kiel Institute, and with support of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

Research in economic history is being transformed by advances in the collection, digitization, and analysis of historical data. Rapid developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning are making vast quantities of historical source material accessible for quantitative analysis. Researchers can increasingly construct disaggregated datasets on individuals, households, firms, and localities, creating new opportunities to apply modern econometric methods and quasi-experimental research designs to historical settings. Against this background, the CEPR Applied Micro-Economic History Workshop brings together leading researchers working at the frontier of data-intensive economic history and offers a forum for disseminating methodological innovations and new empirical findings. Now entering its third edition, the workshop has firmly established itself as a leading European venue for quantitative economic history.
