Walls or (draw-) bridges: Protectionism, Resilience and Prosperity
Multiple international conflicts, new block building, structural challenges – the world economy re-mains under heavy stress. Political responses range from more protectionism (walls) to more diversi-fication (bridges), including initiatives for becoming more self-sufficient in times of escalation (draw-bridges). With geopolitical aspects gaining traction, industrial policy sees a revival in various forms. Against the backdrop of a new European Commission and the upcoming elections in the United States, this #KKG108 discusses policy options and economic repercussions of a changing global environment.
