Individual ASP courses

The Kiel Institute offers external PhD students and professionals the opportunity to participate in advanced courses of its high-level ASP Kiel Ph.D program. The courses are at the frontier of current economic research and are taught by leading economists in their field. Participation in these courses is a great way to be inspired by renown scholars who work at the research frontier and to learn new methods and skills. Over the years, hundreds of external participants have attended our ASP courses, in particular PhD students from all over the world, as well as professionals from international institutions, ministries, central banks, think tanks or the financial sector. All courses are taught in English and at our institute facilities in Kiel.

Fees and logistics:

  • The fee for individual courses is 1,800 Euros. Doctoral students can get a discount of EUR 900.

  • Kiel doctoral students can join or advanced courses as part of their PhD curriculum.

  • We can offer subsidized housing for selected few external participants at our “Haus Weltclub”, with preference given to students and a price per stay between EUR 200 and EUR 230 for a nice and clean 11-13sqm room with shared but lockable bathroom.
